New Datacenter: Expanding to Marseille

As part of its continuous service optimization strategy, PulseHeberg will centralize its infrastructure from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (PACA) region to Marseille, replacing the existing locations in Toulon and Nice.

This decision aligns with a particularly favorable context: Marseille recently rose to 6th place in Telegeography's 2024 global Internet hub ranking, surpassing Hong Kong. The city stands out among other major European hubs for its predominantly international traffic, connecting Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Infrastructure Hosted in a Robust and Reliable Datacenter

For this new implementation, PulseHeberg is partnering with a major French datacenter provider.

This robust and reliable datacenter ensures the highest security standards, including ISO 27001 and HDS (Health Data Hosting) certifications.

The facility provides 24/7/365 on-site presence and operates on a fully redundant 2N architecture, where each critical component - from power supply to cooling systems - has an equivalent backup, ensuring maximum infrastructure availability.

Energy and Environmental Efficiency

The datacenter achieves a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) of 1.45, below the industry average of 1.56, reflecting efficient energy consumption management.

This performance is based on optimized technical design, particularly through a free cooling system utilizing outside air and a cold corridor architecture with a closed-loop cooling circuit that significantly reduces water usage.

These facilities continue to benefit from France's low-carbon energy mix, a significant advantage compared to many European countries.

Smooth and Controlled Transition

The migration to the Marseille datacenter has been meticulously planned to ensure a seamless transition. Starting March 1st, 2025, all new services deployed in the PACA region will automatically be hosted in this new datacenter.

Simultaneously, our technical teams will orchestrate the gradual migration of existing services throughout March, following a methodical approach that guarantees absolute service continuity.

This operation will be carried out transparently and without disruption to all web services (Plesk Hosting and Hosted Email) and virtual servers (Standard Cloud, Storage, Performance, and Best Value).

Strategic Network Positioning

Marseille's geographical location and network infrastructure offer significant connectivity advantages. Unlike Toulon and Nice, which are naturally constrained by mountainous terrain, Marseille enjoys a privileged position as a major interconnection hub.

This new location optimizes overall service latency. Eliminating intermediate network routes between Marseille and our former sites represents a latency improvement of 2-3 milliseconds for services currently hosted in Nice that required systematic routing through Marseille (Primary) or Milan (Secondary).

By establishing our presence directly in one of Europe's largest interconnection hubs, we now benefit from direct connectivity to major French and international cities, optimizing our services' performance and perfectly complementing our Paris region positioning.

A Strategic Evolution for the Future

This centralization in Marseille for the Southern region fully aligns with PulseHeberg's commitment to continuous service improvement. This strategic evolution opens new perspectives for the years ahead, particularly through the natural complementarity between our Paris and Marseille locations.

True to our commitments, we are conducting this large-scale migration with the utmost respect for our customers: no disruption, no technical modifications on their end, and of course, no pricing impact. Our priority remains service continuity and quality, both today and tomorrow.
